It means in my current present working directory location there no directory which is used for mount the NFS server network file system. So we have to create a directory on our present working directory location.

Solution:
Create a directory which is having the name off “DUMP”.it is used for mount the NFS server.

bash-4.2# mkdir DUMP bash-4.2# pwd

Again we have to mount the NFS server which is we are created directory name.

bash-4.2# mount 192.168.1.100:/BACKUP /DUMP bash-4.2# df -gt Filesystem GB blocks Used Free %Used Mounted on /dev/hd4 0.50 0.28 0.22 56% / /dev/hd2 9.00 5.97 3.03 67% /usr /dev/hd9var 1.50 1.38 0.12 92% /var /dev/hd3 13.50 7.26 6.24 54% /tmp /dev/hd1 20.00 17.37 2.63 87% /home /proc - - - - /proc /dev/hd10opt 4.00 1.75 2.25 44% /opt 192.168.1.100:/BACKUP 400.00 366.34 34.66 99% /DUMP

Conclusion:
mount: 1831-008 giving up on NFS mount issue has been successfully resolved.
